Ghanaian multiple award singer Wendy Shay has threatened to sue the producers of ‘SLAY‘ showing on Netflix.
The Rufftown Records artist shared a snippet of the film on her Instagram page and lamented that neither she nor her management was informed by the producers of the movie that her hit single ‘ALL FOR YOU’ had been featured in the movie.
“So I watched this movie last night on Netflix and my song ‘All For You’ was featured without my consent, or that of my management. Producers of the movie ‘Slay,’ it is a crime to use someone’s intellectual property without her consent. Kindly do the needful or I will see you in court.” – she captioned the post.
The movie ‘Slay’ tells a story of girls who prey on older promiscuous men.
The movie is produced by Elvis Chucks, and it features a star studded cast of African legends which includes Amanda Dupont, Ramsay Noah, Lilian Dube, Dawn Thandeka, Trevor Gumbi, Tumi Morake, Enhle Mbali, Idris Sultan, Fabian Lojede, Leroy Gapal, Kabono Vilakazi, Kalybos, Bismark The Joke and Joe Kazadi.
Reports we have gathered tells that Netflix has taken down the movie ‘SLAY‘ from their platform. This is due to the threat and complaint Wendy Shay made concerning her not been informed by the producers before using her intellectual property. She is planning on dragging them to court if they fail to do the needful as soon as possible.
